Referrals are accepted for solvent abuse treatment for children/youth ages 12 to 17. The Nimkee NupiGawagan Healing Centre Board of Directors require that prior to admission, youth must be free from solvent use for a minimum of 14 days prior to admission.

• All clients must abstain from all mood altering substances for the duration of the healing program.
• Referral workers and family members must participate in the healing program.

Referrals are accepted from:

• Self / parent referrals
• Community based counsellors
• Child / youth related agencies
• Health and para-professionals

Referrals for treatment from community workers and agencies, schools, physicians and other professionals must be with the consent of the parent. Parent / guardians or children 12 years or over will be assisted with the applications process by the Intake / Outreach Coordinator. Youth 8 - 15 years of age, will be assessed for treatment by our Solvent Abuse Team.

• Referral agencies / workers must be prepared to conduct pre-assessment procedures and post discharge care.
